Nick Milne Garden Services is a
successful gardening business that I have been running since August
2001. The business is mainly concerned with the ongoing maintenance of
gardens of regular, private customers but it also takes on small,
garden-based construction projects. I have spent many years
getting together a client base with whom I have good, mutually-trusting
relationships.
This business covers all aspects of
garden maintenance, including improvement of existing mature gardens,
the growth of vegetables and fruit and the initial, thoughtful planting
of plants that best suit the environment and, of course, customer
choice.
The business currently has three
employees who have either completed or are currently undergoing
training. I have had other part-time and full-time members of staff and
occasionally use sub-contractors for larger projects. I have
passed Health and Safety assessments by the Berkshire College of
Agriculture and can carry out risk assessments as well as being
familiar with Health and Safety legislation.
The most important aspect of my
business is my relationship with the clients. My own education
and experience, as well as a continued interest in horticulture, allows
me to communicate ideas and information. I am aware of the
environmental factors that affect planting schedules and types of
plants that suit various conditions. Through long-lasting,
continued relationships with my clients I have not only proved my worth
in their gardens but I have also built up trusts in often vulnerable
people.
